It has destroyed the lives of many people

A gloomy and unfriendly morning was coming to the city. On June 22, 1941, Kyiv was plunged into fear. No one expected that the cheerful graduation celebration would be scared away in the morning by explosions, roars, and panic. The city of Kyiv is a blooming and charming city: alleys of trees, incredibly majestic city parks and squares stretch along the roads. Everyone is enjoying life, children are happy about the summer, and parents are happy about their children. Happy graduates are celebrating with joy.

The war. The whole world seemed to have turned upside down, to have gone mad, all the happiness of the world seemed to have left the earth, and only fear, sadness, and sorrow remained. All the colors around turned pale, the sun seemed to have fled beyond the horizon from people and their cruelty. Kyiv The blooming and charming city of Kyiv

No one understood anything. What was going on? The frightened people remembered that day forever. Nadia quickly jumped out of bed, dressed and rushed to her parents, calling them in a trembling voice, passing all the doors, rooms, everything, as if not noticing anything around her. Her heart was fluttering, she could feel the trouble that was already engulfing the city.

The terrible noise and explosions from the street made Nadiya's heart beat faster and faster, she could not feel anything under her feet, nothing she came across on the way, only the piercing cries of help that could be heard from everywhere pierced her heart. Finally, Nadia threw herself into her mother's arms.

Her always smiling mother was crying. Where had her joy gone? The mother's cold tears slowly fell on her daughter's shoulders, and it became cold. Nadia was overwhelmed with sadness, the seventeen-year-old graduate was frightened, and her heart was clenching. Her father, Dmytro Kovalchuk, tried to reassure his family, but feelings of fear and uncertainty gripped Nadia, because no one can be prepared for war.

Only yesterday Nadiya Kovalchuk was laughing, enjoying life, celebrating graduation with her classmates, waiting for her birthday, and being in love. Today, it seemed as if all that had never happened, her soul was uneasy, and with every shot of gunfire she shuddered, everything inside her shrank, and it seemed like it was the end

Nadiia's father was running around the room, trying to understand what was happening and what to do, and as soon as he looked at his beloved women, his heart was breaking, he wanted to help, but he could not. At that moment, the man realized how hard it is to realize that you can't help your closest people, and how much your heart hurts from the thought. That they might die.

"No, no, we have to do something!"

- his soul screams, but his mind is colder than ever.

"It's over!"

- a thought flashed through Nadiia's mind.

"Finally!"

she wanted to shout, but her lips did not move. Neither guns nor bombs were heard. Peace and quiet did not last long in the Kovalchuk family. In the evening, Nadiya was shocked by the news. Her beloved Tolia was going to war. Her heart stopped, her breath caught in her throat. The girl could not believe what she heard, all her hopes and expectations suddenly burst into bright flames like paper from a match. Everything burned instantly and forever...

Life seemed to stop for a minute, but this moment was an eternity for Nadiya. She realized that she would never be Anatoliy Samsonov's happy wife, as she had hoped. Just yesterday, Tolia and Nadia were planning their wedding, which guests they would invite, and were going to tell their parents everything, but it was too late - the war. It came suddenly and unexpectedly, and destroyed the lives of many people.

"This day has come, today I will receive a letter from Tolia!" -

Nadia shouted joyfully, running into the living room. Nowadays, only letters from her beloved brought a smile to the girl's face. Every time she opened the envelope, she was excited to see her beloved's handwriting and nervous:

"What did he write this time, what news, is he alive? Is he well, does he still love me?"

- These were the only questions that worried Nadia. Every letter from Tolia began with warm words of love, and the girl lived for them. And today a letter came. Nadiia rushed to open it, but she did not recognize the handwriting; it was not from Tolia. The girl's disappointment knew no bounds, and anxiety gripped her, something was not right in her heart. After all, the letter was addressed to her from the front. Nadia was afraid to open it, her fingers were numb and her hands were trembling.

"You have to openit!"

- her parents told her. Nevertheless, she dared, slowly tore open the envelope and took out the letter. With fear in her eyes, she began to read. Nadia's parents sat down next to her and waited for their daughter to finish reading and tell them what was in the letter. The girl suddenly fainted.

For two days Nadia slept, all the while her father and mother sat by the girl's bedside, worried, afraid for their daughter, praying that she would survive it all, because they knew that Nadia had learned about Tolia's death from the letter. The girl woke up, she had absolutely no strength to get out of bed, her heart was pulling her down like a stone, not allowing her to get up.

It seemed to her that the world had darkened, the sun was no longer warming, and the sky was not blue at all. Tears rolled into Nadia's eyes, she could hear neither her parents nor the doctor, everything around her seemed to have died out, Nadia saw nothing but Tolia's face, who was smiling at her as if there had been no war and they were still happy schoolchildren.
